Sarvo 37, a fast electric boat made from recycled materials

The Danish manufacturer Sarvo Marine has just developed a luxurious electric runabout designed from recycled materials, the Sarvo 37.

Electric propulsion inspired by supercars

Sarvo Marine has decided to respond to the "green" trend that is affecting more and more markets today by producing a powerful and luxurious electric outboard boat.

The initial lines were designed by Sarvo Mads Breckling, founder of Sarvo Marine. The manager has joined forces with engineer Jonas Voss for the technical side, a specialist in electric propulsion in the field of supercars. The latter invented a battery system - with a power of 350 kW - which coupled with the 4 electric motors with a maximum power of 1280 HP - gives the boat a maximum power of 70 knots. The speed may seem impressive, but the range will certainly not exceed 15 minutes... Not to mention that all this power train makes the boat heavier, weighing in at 4780 kg. The manufacturer also puts forward his base with nozzle starter allowing a gain of 18 % of propulsion.

At the more reasonable speed of 10-20 knots, the shipyard announces a range of 70 to 100 miles, which will obviously depend on sea conditions, driving and speed.

Recycled raw materials

The Sarvo 37 - the first of which will be launched in June 2021 - has a length of 11.25 m and is approved in category B. Its design is inspired by the old Danish minesweepers and its elegant lines make it a luxurious runabout.

The Sarvo 36 is made from 6mm thick aluminium, chosen for its strength - 60% of which is recycled aluminium. The deck is made from synthetic wood made from 80% recycled plastic, much of which comes from the ocean.

For the upholstery, the shipyard has chosen to replace leather and plastic with durable materials. For example, the chairs and benches are made of durable silicone that does not fade in the sun or crack.

Inside, the cabin offers a double berth, a toilet and a small kitchen unit.

As a superyacht tender, dayboat or service boat in ports or marinas, Sarvo Marine intends to multiply the uses of its boat. If the manufacturer has chosen to produce "green", the Sarvo 37 will not be intended for all users. The shipyard did not want to communicate on the price, but indicated to us that the price was very high.
