A modular deck plan for versatile use
The Finnish builder Nautor's Swan, known for its luxurious sailing boats, makes its entry into the world of motorboats with the Swan Shadow. Initially designed as a tender for cruising yachts, this open hull of 13.23 m long is finally suitable for many uses thanks to its modular deck plan.
Thus, the Swan Shadow is available as a Fishing version, as a daycruiser in a tender for sailboats or superyachts. The shipyard even offers its tender in a Limo version, in the style of Venetian water taxis.
Its fully flush deck plan is in a walk-around layout with a centre console and large catwalks to move easily from the bow to the stern of the boat.
A platform framing the outboard motors
But the main feature of the Swan Shadow is the large rear platform that frames the three outboard motors. This makes moving around and swimming safe, but can also be used as a bathing platform in the lowered position or as a boarding platform when raised.
A layout à la carte
On deck, various facilities are available: sunbathing, opposite saloon, fishing tower, etc. Different roof options are available: from a short T-Top to an extended T-Top that offers more protection from the elements.
Possibility to sleep on board
For those who would make it their main boat - or for owners of larger yachts looking for a more accessible, yet equally comfortable boat - the Swan Shdow offers double berths with a separate toilet. As an option, a second double berth in the centre of the boat can accommodate friends or children. In total, the Swan Shadow offers an interior area of 35 m2.
Performance and seakeeping
In order to maintain the performance that characterizes the brand's large sailing yachts, the shipyard has equipped its boat with a double-step hull. The latter ensures a good passage at sea, but also high speeds, as the boat is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 55 knots. At a cruising speed of 28 knots, the range is 300 miles.
As far as the engine is concerned, the standard propulsion is 3x225 HP, but several options are on the catalogue, including a maximum power of 3x350 HP.
