It is in Brazil, in the Sao Paulo region, that Okean motor boats are built. These 5 models from 50 to 80 feet are now imported into Europe, and in particular in France, by the Var distributor Vanguard Yachts.
On the pontoons of Cannes, we were able to visit the Okean 50X' whose design does not leave anyone indifferent. Modern and robust lines, folding bulwarks, rounded superstructure glazing, vertical bow are the main characteristics of this 15.12 m yacht Explorer. A design by the Italian designer Paolo Ferragni, who has more than 15 years of experience in the boating industry.
The exterior is the strongest element of the design. Thanks to the extensible bulwarks and the hydraulic bathing platform (optional), the cockpit space is immense. Fully customizable, it can accommodate a living room - a fixed bench in the back, the rest of the furniture being mobile - but also serve as a storage for nautical toys. In the version visited, the kitchen was installed outside with a sink, a hob, a refrigerator and many storage spaces. Access is from the cockpit, via the bulwarks at the bow, which offers a comfortable sunbathing area.
Access to the flybridge is from the large cockpit staircase, whose steel structure allows it to be held. On the fly, there is a large U-shaped bench seat with a removable table on the rear, a port cockpit with a carbon module that can accommodate two large navigation screens. The leather armchair is of good workmanship and brings a top-of-the-range grape variety to the boat. Finally, a large sunbathing area to starboard and a complete refrigerator complete all the facilities. A carbon T-Top can protect the flybridge space.
Inside, the layout is design and original. The sliding window allows the main deck to be fully opened on the cockpit. The back is occupied by an L-shaped square with a folding table. There is also a small storage unit on the port side and a TV unit on the starboard side. The cockpit is reminiscent of a large yacht or spaceship with a central position, a leather armchair with armrest and a huge dashboard, always in carbon. A comfortable seat on the starboard side will allow the pilot to have company. The view is breathtaking thanks to the impressive 360° glazing and the light flows in.
Access to the cabins is via a staircase to starboard, protected by a balcony. Here too, the layout is original. The beautiful owner's cabin is installed in the centre of the boat with private bathroom and small lounge. The diagonally oriented bed positioning provides space in the cab. A second double cabin is installed at the bow with a bathroom to starboard.
In our model, a third cabin with a double bed and a single bunk bed - one in width and one in length - completed the port area. A kitchen can also be installed at this point on the boat.
With two two 600 HP IPS propulsion engines, the boat reaches a maximum speed of 26 knots. With its customizable layout, which stands out from the competition, the Okean 50X' offers a living space comparable to that of a house. Comfort and luxury are at the heart of the design, with a refined and pleasant design. The Okean 50X' is also available in a fly version.
