Sunreef Yachts unveils a 160-foot custom superyacht catamaran project

The 49 m custom catamaran built by Sunreef Yachts

Announced in 2018, we now know more about the custom construction project of the Polish Sunreef Yachts yard. Its first project managed by the broker Imperial Yachts on behalf of a private client will be a fully custom 49 m superyacht catamaran.

A totally custom project

"We are working on the construction of 100% custom boats. The idea is to translate customer demand and develop boats according to their desires. We have a project for a large motorboat, but it's confidential." francis Lapp, manager of the Polish Sunreef Yachts yard, told us at our meeting in September 2018 during the Cannes Yachting Festival .

Once again, at his annual Cannes conference in September 2019, the director announced that he was working on a "big" top secret project, about which we would have news soon.

A 160-foot superyacht catamaran

It is no longer a secret since the shipyard has just announced the construction of a 49 m long (160 feet) superyacht catamaran entirely custom built. Imperial Yachts - a superyacht broker - has therefore chosen the luxury catamaran manufacturer on behalf of its client.

With a displacement of 1,350 tonnes, this multihull will be entirely built in Sunreef's factories, located in the city of Gdansk in Poland, where the builder began construction of a 20,000 m2 plant last year.

A design on three bridges

Is there a new trend in the architecture of catamarans?? We had discovered the concept of fitting out three decks with the Amasea, and it is a concept that will be found on this new multihull which will be delivered during the second half of 2021.

Thanks to this radical design, the interior and exterior living spaces will be very spacious, not to mention the 17 m main beam. The superyacht will be operated by 17 crew members and will be able to accommodate up to 10 guests on board.

An efficient superyacht

Thanks to its double hull design, this superyacht will have a low drag. With an incredible 90,000 L of fuel tank, the announced range is over 5,000 miles. Powered by two 3400 HP MTU engines, this catamaran will easily carry three tenders as well as a wide selection of water toys and personal watercraft.
