Delphia BluEscape 1200 Flybridge, a Mediterranean trawler

Delphia Yachts has developed a flybridge version of its Delphia Bluescape 1200 to offer an additional living space on its 12.75 m trawler and, above all, to give it a more "sea" feel With this option, the Polish yard is targeting a rather Mediterranean market.

The frame of Eovolt bicycles is made of aluminium, the same one used on aircraft. Besides its weight, it is interesting when sailing, because aluminium does not rust. A small detail, this electric bike, which has a screen to manage the battery and the level of assistance, is also equipped with a USB plug to recharge your laptop while on the road. Delphia BluEscape 1200 is a 12.75 m (41.83 ft) trawler designed for family navigation at a cruising speed of 9 knots. When this model was launched in 2017, the Polish shipyard proposed a more modern model, with a level layout, but above all a reduced air draft of 2.65 m for inland navigation.

Two years later, the BluEscape 1200 is back in a flybridge version, at the request of customers. This optional version allows you to have an additional outdoor space, with a kitchen, a sunbathing area and a square for 8 people. It can be accessed from a cockpit ladder on the port side, which can be stowed under the flybridge on the next models. This system will save space in the cockpit and will not interfere with travel.

On the flybridge, the layout is modular and clever. The pilot bench, for example, tilts vertically to become a square bench. The locking system is easy and quick to handle. A cover covers the console and steering station, whose seat will be raised and the steering wheel changed for more modernity. A huge storage box is hidden under the rear sunbathing area.

"The sedan version, without fly, was intended more for the canals than the sea. With the flybridge version, the air draft increases to 3.63 m. If it is still possible to navigate by river, we are addressing a public that navigates more at sea" explains Stanislas Le Goff, French importer of Delphia.

Inside, no change. We find the 2 cabins and the 2 bathrooms below a descent. The engineers have managed to integrate two toilets, but given their proximity, it seems more functional to us to replace one of the toilets with a closet. The second bathroom with separate shower at the front will be more than enough for a cruise for 4 people.

The saloon is simple, but well equipped with a beautiful galley to starboard and a saloon to port, which can be used as an additional sleeping area. The double steering station is located on the starboard side, forward and has a side door to access the front deck.

As the trawler concept requires, the Delphia BluEscape 1200 has a displacement hull (it is not designed to glide at high speed) and a single or twin-engine engine (1x220 D3 Volvo or 2x135 NANNI) with an exclusively in-line shaft transmission. Its cruising speed is about 9 to 10 knots.

The boat has a good autonomy, the shipyard data indicate a consumption of 10 l/hour at cruising speed. Thanks to its 600 L tank, we can expect an autonomy of around 600 miles. In addition to fuel, to ensure cruising range, the Delphia BluEscape 1200 has a 600 L fresh water tank and a refrigerator and freezer volume of around 200 L.
