The Delphia 12, the ideal companion for peaceful off-season cruising

Daniel Flammarion, a slow-speed sailing enthusiast, is the proud owner of a Delphia 12. Between wild rides and enriching encounters, his experience inspires us to adopt a lifestyle based on slow living.

The Delphia 12, love at first sight

Daniel Flammarion is no novice to the world of sailing. As he approached retirement, he and his wife took their boating licenses and chose a unit that would enable them to sail the long haul, taking their time.

After owning a 40-foot Greenline, he discovered the Delphia 12 in 2017, before purchasing it in 2022. The Delphia 12's well-thought-out design and practical layout, with a 360° panoramic view, won him over immediately. He confides: "It was love at first sight!"

Space optimization and technical features, such as solar panels and electrical autonomy, also played a crucial role in his choice. Daniel's choice of the Delphia 12 was also influenced by the quality of the after-sales service and the proximity of the Constance Boat dealer. He emphasizes: "It's a good sales and technical team."

Life on board combined with taking your time

For Daniel, sailing his Delphia 12 means much more than just getting around on the water. It's a slow life experience. From his youth, when he rode his motorcycle at full speed along the roads of France, he is now concentrating on a new life project.

He explains: "We take the time to discover new places, to stay several days in a pretty bay." His summer itineraries, which stretch from before to after the season, take him to some of the Mediterranean's most beautiful wild anchorages: Bandol, Porquerolles, Les Embiez, Frioul, Corsica and the Italian coast. These destinations offer breathtaking scenery and a deep connection with nature.

Enriching encounters and memorable adventures

The sailing community is another valuable facet of Daniel's experience. He recounts: "We get together very regularly with other sailors we've met on our cruises, including another Delphia 12 owner. We don't sail together, but we do have several stopping-off points, often in wild anchorages, where we enjoy moments all together."

Comfort and conviviality on board

The Delphia 12 is not only designed for sailing at around 7 knots, but also for comfort and conviviality. With its two spacious cabins, Daniel often welcomes friends for extended stays. Daniel says: "It's perfectly liveable." Onboard conveniences such as solar panel options and a 600-liter water storage capacity ensure impressive autonomy, ideal for long voyages.

An ideal choice for retirees

Now retired, Daniel particularly appreciates the peaceful pace offered by the Delphia 12. He explains: "We sail on lakes, rivers and coastal navigation." The trawler program allows you to take your time exploring the canals and enjoying the locks, without the pressure of speed. He concludes: "It's a lifestyle perfectly suited to those who have the time to savor every moment, away from the daily hustle and bustle."
