"These models were released 5 years ago and are bestsellers, our 2 best-selling models. They represent the heart of our range and we wanted to renew them to bring elements that are completely in the spirit of the 9.0, the biggest model of our range - presented at Cannes in September -, but also of the 7.5, all in a smaller version. This boat clearly resumes the feeling of the 7.5" explains Vincent Piel, product manager for Jeanneau motor boats.
The 6.5 has a new traditional V-shaped hull designed by Michael Peters, an American architect who has been working with Jeanneau for several years. No steps on the hull to avoid damaging them by transporting or handling them, as Vincent Piel explains "These are boats that are very regularly on trailers or in dry ports and handled with elevators."
This new hull has made it possible to gain length and width to gain interior space, especially in the cockpit. The single non-retractable bench seat (in the old model) has been replaced by an L-shaped or U-shaped cockpit saloon with fold-down seats and comfortable backrests that circle the cockpit. All optional. This configuration creates a comfortable lounge at the back with the possibility of having a sunbathing. In the standard version, the 6.5 receives a right bench seat.
Rear platforms - optional - allow further expansion of the boat and a larger deck, while facilitating access to swimming. The centre console has two comfortable seats for sitting or standing and an enveloping windscreen. An optional T-Top protects the space. At the bow, a U-shaped deck saloon and a seat next to the console complete the layout. The latter allows direct access to the interior.
"The 6.5 is a versatile boat that can be adapted according to its budget and programme. For fishing, you can choose a simple configuration and for idleness, more comfort. The Central Console adapts more to fishing and the Walk-Around to family" details Vincent Piel.
The Walk-Around model has the same hull as the Central Console as well as the aft cockpit, with optional modularity with L or U-shaped benches. It is at the front that the model distinguishes itself with a raised deck like a sundeck which allows to have a big sunbathing and a sufficient volume for a cabin below "When we designed this hull, we wanted it well defended, with a well defended deck line and interior volume" adds Vincent Piel.
Under the deck, there are 2 single beds that can be connected to form a large double bed. The 6.5 WA is therefore a dayboat with a cabin that allows you to spend a night on board and a toilet for extra comfort.
The 6.5 CC or WA receives between 130 and 200 HP outboard, the 150 HP engine being the most widespread.
