Neo, the first electric outboard model from Greenline Yachts

For its 10th anniversary, the Greenline shipyard is launching its first day cruiser, 10.99 m long with a choice of two thermal or electric outboard motors. After the Greenline 33, the first production model with electric propulsion launched in 2008, the Slovenian shipyard launched its smallest all-electric model ten years later. Neo will be presented at the 2018 autumn boat shows, including the first electric model at the Monaco Yacht Show.

"In 2008, hybrid propulsion may have been ahead of its time. But today, 10 years later, the market is ready for the next step, all electric!" explains Vladimir Zinchenko, who will take over the site in 2015.

Thus, Greenline Yachts (whose boats are produced by the SVP Yachts shipyard, which bought it in 2015) is launching its smallest model - Neo - a 10m day cruiser proposed in 3 versions and with two different outboard engines, a first for the shipyard used to inboard.

"Neo should be a fun boat, fast in thermal propulsion and more environmentally friendly in electric propulsion. With this new boat, Greenline is targeting the new generations, younger boaters. It will be a faster boat than what the shipyard usually offers with its single deck boats for older boaters, families or former sailors who want to continue sailing comfortably and easily" explains Caroline Boineau, communication assistant at Evasion Yachting, importer of the brand.

Two motorization options

The Neo eDrive receives two Torqeedo Deep Blue electric outboards with 80 hp and two 30.5 kWh BMW i3 lithium batteries (total of 61 kWh) for a maximum range of 40 miles at a speed of 6 knots. At full throttle, it will reach a top speed of 16 knots for a range of 20 miles.

For more traditional boaters and speed aficionados over 30 knots, Neo will receive two petrol outboards with a maximum of 300 hp for a cruising speed of 36 knots and a maximum speed of 42 knots.

Neo Coupé version

Three versions, several navigation programs

Neo has been designed by the architectural firm J & J Design and will be offered in 3 versions for various uses: Coupé, Hard-top and Open. The Open and Hard-Top versions have the same deck layout with a large U-shaped bench seat at the stern, whereas in the Coupé version, the deck saloon will be divided into two distinct areas. An L-shaped bench seat in the cockpit and a dining area with a galley opposite and with a fridge and freezer in the wheelhouse closed by a glassed-in, sliding cockpit door and fully glazed for 360° visibility.

A bowrider with side access to the front

The characteristic feature of this day cruiser is its bowrider at the bow, which is accessed via the port side passage. In the Open version, a wicket door gives access to the bowrider's sundeck, while in the Hard-Top and Coupé versions it will be a door through the windscreen. A different configuration - usually on a bowrider, the forward passage is through a central passage in the windscreen - but which is beginning to be found on day cruisers with bowrider.

Neo Hard-Top version

16 passengers on board, 11 of whom are seated in a seaward-facing position

In the cockpit, there is a U-shaped bench seat and a small bar for a moment in the sun with friends. The helm station has two co-pilot seats and a pilot seat. In addition to the cockpit bench seat, Neo has a second cockpit lounge on the bowrider, overlooking the cabin.

An innovative bathing platform

Neo is distinguished by its removable bathing platform that completely surrounds the motors and whose position is ensured by a hydraulic mechanism. Thus, it can completely cover the engines, go down into the water to bathe or arrive at pontoon level to disembark. The steps to access the cockpit are directly integrated into the transom of the boat.

We had already seen this platform system covering speedboats on the Parker Monaco, launched in 2017.

Neo Coupé version

Neo Open version

A cabin to extend the sea trip

Below deck, there is a cabin with scissor beds (shipyard signature) in the Coupé version (Island bed optional), as well as a toilet, dressing room and storage space. The Open and Hard-Top versions also share the cabin layout with a separate toilet compartment and a V-shaped sofa with a table, which can be converted into a double berth. A wide range of options allows the interior of the boat to be customised in terms of colour and upholstery fabrics.

Neo on Autumn Fairs

NEO will be presented at the Salon d'Automne in 2018. The first NEO with electric propulsion will be exhibited at the Balaton Boat Show (Hungary), the Interboot (Germany) and the Monaco Yacht Show. NEO in petrol outboard version will be presented at HISWA in Amsterdam, then at Southampton and Fort Lauderdale (USA).
