After having developed the Multi Graphic, NKE will launch the MFD (for MultiFunction Display) in 2018. With these screens, the French electronics manufacturer NKE is moving its control keyboard away from the screen. All too often, the autopilot screen is linked to the keypad which controls the pilot (On or stand by key and heading adjustment). However, depending on the position of the rudder (tiller or wheel, single or double), this screen is installed very low, not very visible..

A remote keyboard
The MFD has not one but two remote keyboards. You can choose a keypad that gives access to the autopilot controls or a more regatta-style keypad with the functions of starting and accessing the various screens.
The "Auto Pilot" keypad can be positioned close to the helm - you can put two keypads if you have double steering - and the display can remain in the centre of the cockpit visible to the whole crew. This new display is therefore particularly suitable for cruising.

A special regatta keyboard
In addition to the keypad which gives access to the pilot functions (but also to all the MFD displays), NKE has developed a keypad dedicated to other users with 4 programmable keys according to the different regatta ranges: start, close-hauled... These keys named A, B, C and D can be programmed at will.
A cruising user will also be able to use these keys and program a "Port Arrival" key with speed and depth and another "Offshore Navigation" key with speed on the water, wind strength and direction

Two possible installations
The MDF has the particularity to be installed in portrait or landscape mode (vertical or horizontal). The 7-inch (192 x 118 mm) display can be adjusted when mounted on the boat to indicate its position. Then the data you want to see on each page is entered. For a mast mount installation, depending on the size of the boat, one or two vertical displays can be installed, or on a larger boat, several horizontal displays can be installed one below the other.

A slab of very high quality
The MFD is a high quality colour display with a very bright display, but consumes very little electricity. It remains visible in full sunlight with a large viewing angle. Wearers of polarized glasses will also be served, as NKE announces that the screen remains visible whether vertical or horizontal.

Available in 2 finishes
The MFD is available in a black carbon finish or white. The latter finish has been reworked to give a "fabric" look to the product in order to avoid colour change over time. The design has been harmonized to give an overall consistency to the range. It is thus possible to combine black and white screens on the same boat without shocking the eye.
