The R55, Bavaria's largest motorized model is unveiled

The new Bavaria R55

In January 2017, Bavaria unveiled the first sketches of the R55, its biggest fly boat, in Düsseldorf. The flagship of its R-Line range is 17.69 m long, including the bathing platform, and comes after the R-40 (12.55 m) presented in Germany at the beginning of the year. The German shipyard presented new visuals at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

The R55 has a deep V-shaped hull at the front and flat at the rear. The launch will be equipped with 2 x Volvo D8 IPS -800 (600 hp) for a speed of 30 knots or 2 x Volvo D11 IPS -950 (723 hp) for a speed of 30 knots. is a 17.69 m long, second and larger model in the R-Line range. After the release of the R40 at Boot Düsseldorf 2017, it will be the largest model of the yard to make its world debut at Boot 2018. The basic idea is to present a boat for the big cruise, a boat where you feel like at home, with many elements of comfort.

On board, we find a little bit the same layout as on the smallest model in the range. Namely the large rear bathing platform with skipper's cabin and grill kitchen above. The cockpit is then accessed with an L-shaped sofa and dining table as well as an outdoor kitchen. From this space, access is gained to the flybridge - with or without a hart-top - with a second helm station, a very large sunbathing area forward, a galley to starboard and a saloon to port. The foredeck houses a very large sunbathing area with a bench in the front.

It is on the main deck that the layout differs. The space is bright and completely open. The glass between the cockpit and the saloon disappears completely. The layout of the living room is also different, with two distinct spaces, thanks to a few steps between the front and rear. With a fully glazed superstructure, the main deck is very bright.

Thus, the equipped kitchen is located at the rear while the lounge/dining area occupies the front space, with a helm station for 2 people.

Under the deck, there are three double cabins, each with its own bathroom with separate shower. The owner's cabin is located in the centre of the boat with many storage spaces and made bright by large hull windows. The front houses a second double cabin with scissor beds and a 3 eST PRIS DANS LE GROS TEMPS, ET TANGUE DE GAUCHE ?ROITE, SECOUÉ PAR LES VAGUES. UN HOMME, SANS DOUTE UN PÊCHEUR QUI PARTICIPE À UNE SESSION DE PÊCHE SPORTIVE, PASSE PAR-DESSUS BORD, DE MANIÈRE ASSEZ IMPRESSIONNANTE. double cabin (with two single beds that can be partitioned or decompartmentalized) is installed on the starboard side.

Even if Bavaria announces a revolutionary and pioneering star, on the visuals and descriptions received at this stage, we find all the elements in vogue on stars of this type: swimming platform, many cabins, bright and open spaces, large sunbathing areas... It will therefore be necessary to wait for the worldwide presentation of the R55 to know more about this novelty.
