By offering a 100 hp based on its 90 hp, Suzuki is now launching the lightest 100 hp on the market. The power increase was achieved by modifying the control box setting for the DF90A series engines.
This new DF100B is a complement to the DF100A range. This old model is built on the basis of 140 hp, a larger engine block with a displacement of 2 litres (1.5 l for the new DF100B). This reduction in displacement is strongly felt on the balance since the 2 engines weigh 156 kg and 182 kg respectively. A difference of 26 kg which represents 20% of the engine weight!
The 2 100 hp engines remain in the catalogue
The "big" 100 hp remains in the catalogue, as it is of interest for particular applications to power oyster barges, for example. For its part, the new 100 hp will be particularly interesting for light recreational boats such as semi-rigid boats for which weight is a performance argument.

The same propeller
Lighter, the new 100 hp also has the same propeller ratio as its "big" brother. The reduction is 2.59:1 on both engines. So these two outboards pull the same propeller.
Available in December 2017
Asked by Bateaux.com, the director of Suzuki Marine France, Christophe Vassas, said: "The DF100B will be produced at Suzuki's Toyokawa plant in Japan and will be available from the Nautic in December 2017. Its sale price will only be announced on that date. It will be available in two colors: Pearl Nebular Black (black) and Cool White (white)."
