Web series / Blandine and Max discover the Caribbean with two faces

Two months after their Transat, Blandine and Max continue to explore the Lesser Antilles. After Guadeloupe, they direct the bow of their Dufour 4800 towards the North: Antigua, Barbuda, Saint-Kitts and Saint-Barth. With good and bad surprises.

This part of our trip has many surprises in store for us..

The first is more or less good we remain perplexed when arriving at English Harbour on Antigua. Despite the background full of history that surrounds us, we remain shy in front of people and the atmosphere that emerges from the places... Not so convinced by this island we are heading towards Green Island, apparently there is a beautiful playground there... And there a magnificent surprise welcomes us, the perfect kite spot, the one where your boat is anchored IN the spot and is protected by a coral reef. We will need no more than 2 minutes of annex to reach the spot of kite with turquoise waters, incredible...

Reboosted after a 5 days session, we leave again direction Joly Harbour.

After a sportive slalom, we anchor in front of the harbour (still in the turquoise water!). And there a new surprise, this place is improbable, the boats are moored in front of the owners' houses. Impressive, very American, but not very exciting. We decide to make some adjustments in the front cabin, this wall carpet was starting to come out through our eyes! Three brushstrokes later, we are ready to leave for Saint John's for refuelling the boat.

We find ourselves at anchor at the bottom of Saint John's Bay. Here's our new surprise: we're in the city sewers!

We leave the next day accompanied by friends who come to enjoy the boat! That's it. The journey can go on

Destination north of Antigua, our first real coral sailing. The place is magnificent... A few paddle rides later, here we go again, Max takes a malicious pleasure to slalom between the corals at 6am towards Barbuda!

After seeing a whale in the distance, we arrive in Barbuda, the island we have heard so much about.

Turquoise waters encircle the boat, turtles and rays are there, in short, paradise on earth! The next day, we head to Codrington, the only town on the island, to do the exit formalities, and especially to go see the Fregates, those thousands of birds located in the North of the island. We meet the locals more than welcoming and rather quiet, it is not as if the customs officer was wearing a Pablo Escobar t-shirt. ;)

After filling up with heavenly images, we leave for Saint-Kitts ! First night sailing for our guests, departure at 1am' arrival at 1pm!

And now, the last surprise: Saint Kitts. This island is superb, the premises warm, and the landscapes magnificent! We spend 2 days visiting the island. We'll be back for sure.

Last stop, Saint Barth. There, we expected it, we return to civilization and bling-bling!

At first sight the island looks rather peaceful despite its Côte d'Azur style...
