Wellcraft is one of the four brands of the RecBoat group, specialising in the design, manufacture and marketing of motor boats in the United States, acquired by Bénéteau in 2014. The latter specialises in motor boats for sport fishing and comes in four ranges.

Wellcraft, Glastron, Sacrab and Four Winns are four American motorboat brands, owned by the Rec Boats group, based in Cadillac, Michigan. The latter was acquired by the French group Bénéteau in June 2014 in order to expand the under 12 m segment, which represents nearly 40% of the motorboat market, in the United States. This acquisition was part of Bénéteau's development strategy in the United States.

Today, Wellcraft and Glastron are part of the Jeanneau brand, while Scarab and Four Winns are part of the Bénéteau brand.

Wellcraft, as well as Glastron GTD 220 is a legendary brand from the 1970s in the United States. The Scarab Offshore have been very successful thanks to their appearance in the US series Miami Vice . The brand originated in Florida, although it has since been repatriated to Michigan (with Glastron). However, the hulls continue to be designed in the South.

Wellcraft boats have been oriented towards high-end sport fishing for 10 years and are available with Yamaha outboard engines. They are fast boats with large engines, as is fashion in the United States and are suitable for both sea and lake fishing

The Wellcraft brand is composed of 4 ranges:

  • Scarab Offshore sports boats with centre console
  • Sportsman Comfortable boats for family and friendly outings (water sports, cruising or trolling)
  • Coastal : habitable and comfortable for offshore fishing and sports fishing and suitable for family outings
