BirdyFish S: solo foiling made easy

With the BirdyFish S, the young Nantes-based company specializing in lightweight hydrofoil sailing has taken a new step forward. Designed for solo sailors, this boat combines simplicity, performance and accessibility. A great unit for solo flying.

A company born to democratize foiling

Founded in 2018 by Pierre Rhimbault, Alban Satgé and Jean-Baptiste Morin, BirdyFish has set itself an ambitious mission: to make foiling accessible to as many people as possible. The first model, launched in 2019, had already won over sailing schools, individuals and freeride enthusiasts. With its intuitive design and iconic pink foils, the company has established its vision of more inclusive, fun and open sailing.

The BirdyFish S, a new direction for solo flying

In January 2025, BirdyFish presents a brand-new model: the BirdyFish S. Designed for solo sailors, this boat is aimed at those who want to discover flying on the water independently, without the complexity often associated with foilers. More compact than its big brother, the BirdyFish S stands out for its ease of set-up, sailing stability and immediate handling.

Designed for intuitive performance

Measuring 4.20 meters long and weighing just 100 kilos, the BirdyFish S can take off in as little as 8 knots of wind, reaching a top speed of 19.6 knots. Its glass/epoxy infusion hull and carbon foils guarantee lightness, solidity and feel. Its ergonomic design makes sail trimming simple and allows you to launch quickly without assistance. What's more, launching is made easy by the integration of launching wheel supports in the hull. The boat is built entirely in France, in Saint-Herblain (44), to ensure quality and a short production cycle.

Recognition confirms its potential

Right from its launch, the BirdyFish S was a convincing choice. It received the Foiling Award 2025 in the "Production Sailing Boat" category, proof of the positive reception it has received from industry professionals. Several testers praised the balance between accessibility and performance, a rare asset in the highly technical world of foiling. This boat offers beginners and experienced sailors alike a new way of flying independently.

Budget-wise, it's available for ?15,990, ready to sail.

Ever more international ambitions

In parallel with product development, BirdyFish continues to bring the community of its users to life with the BirdyTour, a unique regatta circuit open to both individuals and clubs. On the strength of its local roots and controlled industrial model, BirdyFish is now stepping up its international development, with promising prospects in Northern Europe, Asia and North America.
