It is the story of a young man whose parents made him taste the sea air when he was 6 years old. Then he became an Earthman again, he never stopped sailing. On an Optimist first then looking for the pleasures of speed on a Tornado, a two-handed catamaran with which he makes Olympic preparations. Then he moved on to the habitable Figaro before embarking on the assault of the Vendée Globe, which he won for his first participation in the 2012-13 edition.

The young man under the air of an ideal son-in-law with his blue eyes hides an enormous potential and a rage to win indéboulonnable. This autobiographical book does not reveal many mysteries. Lovers of ocean racing will not discover that he is a studious, hard working and winning student.

This book has the advantage of showing us that the long road to the dazzling ascent that we know has taken a few long years of galleys. Before enjoying his new maxi trimaran Macif's watch berth, he slept many nights in his Volkswagen Combi in the sailing school car parks.

The reader should be reassured, because if this 33-year-old young man already has a long enough route to publish his biography, a few desires released with the liking of the pages show that the story is not going to stop there and that our skipper François still has a few ideas in mind before hanging up his waxed.
