With the help of Éditions Sud Ouest, Amel is offering a book retracing the history of this atypical shipyard. To mark the shipyard's 60th anniversary, since it was founded in 1964, this book retraces the adventure and choices that have shaped the character of Amel sailboats.

Of course, the book introduces Henri Amel, from his resistance fighter name, who had a strong personality and always knew how to surround himself with a reliable, high-performance team, but the book is also an opportunity to put the spotlight on all the generations of men and women who made up the Amel crew over these 60 years.

This highly visual book presents all the boats in the Amel range, but it's not about reliving the past. On the contrary, it shows how the strengths of these older models were used to modernize the brand and launch the Amel 50 and 60, the two current models in the range.

We take a look back at the genesis of these models, which marked a break with the past by abandoning the ketch rig, and whose commercial success continues, with the 50 now exceeding the symbolic figure of over 120 units sold since its launch 7 years ago.

This book is first and foremost intended for aficionados of the brand (and there are many of them), but it's also a beautiful book that showcases the exceptional know-how that goes into providing the best sailing tool for AMEL yacht owners.

This beautiful book, available in French or translated into English, can be ordered from the Amel boutique.
