360° pictures / EOS 54, a deliberately aggressive look

Cockpit of the EOS 54

Just launched (her cabins smelled strongly of resin!), the EOS 54 was presented at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle. A singular catamaran with many layout tricks.

Built by the Marsaudon shipyard in Lorient on behalf of EOS Catamaran company, the EOS 54 is a nice textbook case. Indeed, her architect Christophe Barreau has designed a high-performance yacht, but which remains reasonable and comfortable for cruising. A model that Christophe Barreau has drawn with only one drift .

EOS 54

To see it on the pontoon next to the TS 42 (another model by Marsaudon and Christophe Barreau) one can only be led to compare. Indeed, the EOS 54 is more fitted out, has a slightly more advanced finish, but weighs only 14 tonnes under the scale at the time of launch. Nearly half the weight of a Lagoon of the same size... You only have to see the hulls' brickwork well above the water to visualize the lightness of the whole thing.

For the interior finishes, no liner, but a white paint or, in terms of detail, the (textile) bar lines visible in the aft cabins.

EOS 54

The model presented at the Grand Pavois has no less than 14 berths! 5 double cabins and 2 bunk beds in the hulls plus a large skipper's cabin in the port bow. And finally a "watch" bed in the wardroom.

EOS 54

A high berth at the portholes which will serve as much for hours of reading with a sea view as to remain ready to intervene in the event of a gale.

EOS 54

A big highlight of the boat, the aft cabins with very large glass surfaces both on the sides and on the transom. There is light everywhere and these cabins are really bright.

EOS 54

The helm station of the EOS 54 is also interesting. The 2 wheels on each side of the deckhouse are not against the bulkhead. This space is reserved for manoeuvring with access to all halyards and sheets. Just behind, the steering wheels are installed on a rather rough console. Nothing more. The building site announces that it is currently considering adding a foundation.
