Cannes Yachting Festival, the show that launches the autumn season

Cannes Yachting Festival

The Cannes Yachting Festival marks the beginning of the nautical season as it is the first of the exhibitions of the year 2016. A major international gathering attended by nearly 600 sailing and motor boats, it will open its doors from 6 to 11 September 2016.

From 6 to 11 September 2016 the first of the Autumn fairs will open, the 39 e edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival. This nautical event is today one of the most important on an international level and one of the largest in Europe. About 600 boats and yachts will be exhibited by the largest international shipyards (nearly 500): Jeanneau or Beneteau for the French, Chris Craft for the Americans or Invictus for the Italians or Galeon for the Poles Read our special feature on the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Two exhibition areas and new products

The boats on display will be presented in two ports - the Old Port and Port Pierre Canto for second-hand units. Free shuttles connect the two lounges throughout the day. To be noted, three new features this year:

  • La Terrasse, an area dedicated to luxury brands, located next to the Festival beach
  • The extension of the catamaran space. To be able to give more space to the multihull area, it has been moved to the quay of the Pantiero. Visitors will thus benefit from a dedicated marina with more than 40 units and a larger space on land to meet the worksites.
  • The expansion of the RIB village, which was inaugurated in 2015. The semi-rigid is one of the most popular boats of the moment and quite easy to handle, making it a sought-after boat. To facilitate the visit, the offer of the Palace's semi-rigid equipment was completed by an exhibition on land and sea on the Max Laubeuf quay.

Elegance contest, let's do it again!

For the 2 e consecutive year, the organization of the Cannes Yachting Festival is renewing the Elegance competition which will take place on Thursday, September 8 at 5 p.m. This parade of motorboats and day boats under 12 m will be held in the Old Port, near the VIP pontoon and the Festival beach.

A diversified exhibition of boats and yachts

In Cannes, all types of boats are on display: small and large yachts, sailboats, motor boats, monohulls or multihulls, toys, day-boats, semi-rigid boats, tenders, new or second-hand boats, purchase or rental... Thus, the smallest unit will measure 2.40 m and the largest 50 m. The big advantage of the Yachting Festival is also the possibility of trying out the boats at sea, with nearly 80% of the fleet available for testing.

Among the models on display, the public will be able to discover nearly 150 previews, including 90 worldwide. It should be noted that the Yachting Cannes Festival remains above all an international show since in 2015, 58% of the 497 exhibitors and 47% of the 50,101 visitors came from abroad.
