He's coming! He's coming! The Pogo 36 a major innovation of the Structure project. We were able to visit the shipyard, discover the boat being assembled, but unfortunately no picture to show you. Too early for now.

Announced and presented with a model at the Paris Boat Show in December 2015, this sailboat will take over from the famous Pogo 10.50 launched in 2017. Still designed by the Finot-Conq group of architects, the Pogo 36 has a more modern hull with bilges and a slightly wider main beam of 10 cm (4.00 m).

The site offers a fixed keel (2.10 m draught) or a swivel keel. It is in this configuration that the sailboat will perform best, as it allows the ballast to be lowered to 2.80 m below the waterline. However, the lower the ballast, the less weight you need to put on to ensure stability. As a result, the sailboat is lighter and therefore more efficient.

Because that's what the Pogo 36 is looking for: performance. Even if it is displayed as a cruise ship with 2 or 3 cabins, the sandwich construction method, the very basic layout and the possibility of installing a carbon mast clearly shows the shipyard's desire to play the speed card.

The layouts are quite traditional - for a Pogo! - with a table in the centre of the saloon leaning on the keel shaft and cabins that do not have a door. With a bathroom at the front, you can enjoy a 4 or 6 person cruise on board. The storage spaces remain quite limited, many volumes are occupied by foam which ensures buoyancy in the event of water ingress.

It is the shape of the deckhouse that will most distinguish this Pogo 36. Indeed, it is wide above the square to offer the height under bars, but becomes very narrow towards the front. This pinch allows the installation of 2 front portholes that give a beautiful view of the front from the inside.

If the sailboat is currently under construction, it will not be visible until the end of September. Even if we already have 20 units on order, the shipyard does not want to rush to present it at a show, but prefers to manage the finishing of this new cruiser that we are looking forward to.
