A bullet boat to warn us about the dangers of overfishing

"Bateau balle" by Jean-Philippe Barray and Pierre Digonnet

The winners of the Creative Awards by Saxoprint 2016 and WWF France were unveiled on Wednesday 15 June in the presence of more than 200 guests. This year's competition rewarded the best awareness-raising creations on the theme of ocean protection and marine biodiversity.

The Campaign Boat ball won the Grand Jury Prize of the Creative Awards 2016 by Saxoprint advertising competition in association with WWF France.

The high quality of the award-winning creations is a testament to the strong impact that advertising can have when it serves great causes. These inventive and intelligent campaigns provide a breath of fresh air, are pleasing to the eye and at the same time invite reflection and awareness.

For Isabelle Autissier, the president of the association, " wWF has always been committed to soliciting creative advertising to raise awareness of our cause, the preservation of the ocean , is the preservation of mankind and its living conditions ".

The exhibition will now go on a tour of France, with a stopover on the grand Pavois Boat Show of La Rochelle from September 28th.

Grand Jury Prize

The campaign " Boat ball "was signed by Jean-Philippe Barray and Pierre Digonnet. The striking and undoubtedly the most polemical image depicts either a boat in a fishing situation or a bullet from a gun and the disturbances caused by its movement. Far from wanting to hold sports or professional fishermen responsible, the message alerts us to the dangers of the industrialization of illegal fishing.

" A two-sided campaign that points, firstly, to illegal overfishing as one of the causes of the degradation of the oceans, and secondly, to the maritime fauna and flora who see overfishing as the death that comes their way "explains Jean-Philippe Barray.

In order to carry out this campaign, the two thirty-somethings researched a great deal, worked on several versions and finally chose to remain as sober as possible. It will be posted on the Métrobus network from June 27 to July 12 in a 4x3 display.

Second Prize

The second prize of the jury was awarded to Thibault Chancerelle and Antoine Gesson for the " Pelican " (also third prize from the public). The picture shows a pelican with a plastic bottle in its throat.

" The pelican is for us the bird that links the sea and the land. It best expresses the symbolism between pollution of the oceans related to the activity of the man" confides Thibault Chancerelle.

Third prize

Laureline Monsallier and Estelle Pouly were awarded third prize for " the Aquarium ". Through this campaign, the two students wanted to raise awareness of the risks that plastics pose to the disappearance of aquatic species.
