Portraits of boaters in Multimono

Through some typical portraits of Multimono users, we discover the range of uses of this atypical sailboat

In imagining the Multimono, Claude Martinuzzi sought to create a yacht that would respond to all problems, a craft that is always at ease whatever the situation and above all whatever the user. Thus there is not one typical portrait of the Multimono yachtsman, but a multitude of users.

The sailing school

By being able to carry 11 people in category C, the Multimono has a very smooth ride. It does not heel too much and its large cockpit leaves plenty of space for the numerous crew. Very stable at the helm, it can withstand all the mistakes of beginners. Note the automatic ballast filling system which recovers the overpressure from the daggerboard well as soon as the boat moves forward, thanks to a fuse in the well.

The father of the family

The Multimono adapts to the age of its children. At a young age, he uses the Multimono in a wise configuration by filling the ballast tanks. When the children grow up, he takes out the ladders and gains speed. When there is no wind, the outboard motor on the transom also allows him to pull the children on a wakeboard or on a buoy (30 hp is enough).

The retired fisherman

With his outboard motor, he goes out fishing every day. Very stable, the boat offers him a nice platform for his favorite activity. The self-draining cockpit is easy to clean. And if the wind is in the right direction, he can return to port under sail effortlessly.

The feisty young man

With the asymmetrical spinnaker hoisted on the bowsprit, the ladders in place, this young man and his friends (the pensioner's grandson?) take pleasure in pushing the Multimono to its limits. Currently the boat's record is 18 knots. Will it do better?

The raid enthusiast

This couple uses the Multimono as a rowing raft. The pivoting centreboard, which fully retracts, allows grounding on the beach. An awning is placed on the boom to rig a large tent above the boat. With its swim benches and oars, you can row at 6 on this atypical craft to paddle up rivers and discover wild places with little draft.

The alien?

There are undoubtedly other portraits of navigators as the Multimono's combinations are so numerous. And you, how will you use your Multimono?
