This is the final category in our European Yacht of the Year ranking. Meet the five nominees in the Family Cruiser category, yachts dedicated to safe family cruising.

1. Dufour 460

The Dufour 460 is the new 45-foot sailing yacht from Dufour Yacht in the Grand Large range. Designed to be top-of-the-line, she offers top-level performance and absolute comfort. She has a new hull and deck design, and her layout is inspired by the Dufour 500 and 560 GL. Its large aft cockpit is functional, with two helm stations, and is fully secured for family sailing. There is also a galley outside with a barbecue, sink and freezer, hidden under the rear deck seats. Available in three or four cabin versions, it will appeal to long-distance travelers. 2. Hanse 315

The Hanse 315 is Hanse Yacht's entry-level boat, all at an attractive price. She has a tapered bow, small overhangs and a deep T-keel that allows her to be stiff to the canvas. Its higher freeboard at the beam gives it an elegant and sporty look. The roof is not too high and underlines its dynamic line. Intended for sporty sailing or for family cruising or with friends, it has an excellent sailing quality thanks to its sail area. This brings a great feeling of security. It is equipped with a tiller and two steering wheels, optional. The transom is open, but the cockpit is well secured by a tilting bathing platform that enlarges the children's play area in open position.

3. Jeanneau 54

The Jeanneau 54 is the smallest of the Jeanneau Yachts range, but has a generous living space. The cockpit is large, as is the aft deck, and the interior layout is modular, from two to six cabins. At the front, there is a large sunbathing area and the aft cockpit is divided into two areas: relaxation (large bench seats) and navigation (two steering stations). The forward cabin has been designed as a real bedroom and in the two-cabin version, the saloon is a real living room with dining area. The galley then takes the place of the starboard cabin. 4. Maxus 26

The Maxus 26 is an intermediate version between the 24 and the 28. This non-transportable sailboat is both comfortable and performant and keeps a sufficient size for an affordable price. With a new design, it launches a new range. The lines are tighter and more contemporary, especially the side portholes on the roof. As for the layout, it can be customized. Available in 4 versions of appendages: twin keel, full dinghy, keelboat or lifting keel, it can adapt to all kinds of sailing and water conditions. 5. RM 1070

The RM 1070 is a 36-footer at the crossroads of performance and comfort. Offered in two versions, including one with a lifting keel, it has streamlined lines and a sail plan designed for maximum comfort. Inside, the volume is interesting with a spacious saloon, a cabin at the front and a cabin at the back. A third cabin is also possible. Finally, there is a kitchen and a bathroom.
