The Neel 65, the new fast cruising trimaran from Neel Trimaran shipyard

Neel Trimaran is launching a new model, which will be launched in April 2015 in La Rochelle. Initially planned for 60, it became the Neel 65, to meet the demand of the first owner.

Exterior side

The Neel 65 is a trimaran 19.80 m long cruising yacht with a 33 m2 flybridge. This space includes a helm station and a table seating 8, with a sofa that converts to a sundeck. Access is via a staircase from the exterior cockpit on the main deck.

At the stern of the trimaran, access to the cockpit is via a large sliding bay window. Outside, protected by the flybridge, you'll find a table for 10 with its U-shaped bench seat. Opposite, the kitchen is fully equipped with sink, fridge and plancha. On either side, raised above the main deck, are two sunbeds. The skirt of the central hull serves as a large 2.50 m x 2 m bathing platform with swim ladder. The central hull also serves as a garage for a tender. Finally, the two side floats can accommodate water toys (kayak, paddle, windsurf...) at the stern.

The two side floats have ample access via deck hatches. These spaces can also be used as additional storage for sails or diving equipment. The deck fittings, electric winches and helm station on the flybridge make for easy navigation and maneuverability. The flybridge's remote engine control and bow thruster make docking easy.

A "High Performance" option with carbon materials saves 1 tonne in weight.

Inside

One of the shipyard's hallmarks, the Neel 65 has a saloon on the same level as the cabins, for a smoother flow of traffic. The saloon, with its clean lines, boasts a 220° panoramic view. The furniture was designed by Franck Darnet Design for a contemporary, sporty chic look. In the center, the galley has a bar, and in the cockpit, two dining tables, one of which converts to a cocktail table, seat 12. Two sofas face each other, and in the middle, a chart table faces the sea.

The owner's suite has a 2.50-metre-long glass wall. Lying on the king-size bed, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the ocean. A separate toilet and shower cubicle with sea views complete the suite. Each cabin has its own private shower room and toilet. A staircase leads down to the central hull, which houses an additional cabin.

The layout of the Neel 65 can be adapted to crewed charter cruising, as with the first model, but also to family cruising. The layout is modular: additional cabins can be installed in the floats, and the owner can choose between 3 and 8 cabins.

Neel Trimaran shipyard

The Neel Trimaran shipyard, founded by sailor and entrepreneur Eric Bruneel, has been based in La Rochelle since 2007. It specializes in the construction of multihulls with a loft-like interior layout. On these models, the shipyard creates a central living space, on a level with the cockpit, by connecting the hulls. Neel trimarans benefit from all the experience of their creator, at the crossroads between ocean racing and yachting, and are designed to be fast, comfortable cruising multihulls.
