Frauscher launches the 747 Mirage Air

After last year's launch of the 747 Mirage - which won a Nautic Design Award in the Day-Boat category last December - Frauscher presents the 747 Mirage Air, an open hull model with a central cockpit.

Frausher continues to expand its range of open hulls with the new 747 Mirage Air, which follows in the footsteps of the 686 Lido and 1017 Lido. This new boat is built on the hull of its predecessor, the Mirage 747, but with a different deck plan, as it enters the open hull category with a center console. As a reminder, the center console is a cockpit located in the middle of the boat. This creates a large circulation space within the boat, all around the cockpit, always in safety thanks to the high gunwale.

An open hull with a modular interior

The 747 Mirage Air, whose lines and design are specific to the Frauscher brand, has a modular interior. In the front, the two deckchairs can be transformed into a dining area or a sunbathing area. An easy-to-use bimini is hidden in the front part of the bow and can be installed in seconds. It offers a shaded area when the weather is good and can be doubled with a canopy when the weather is bad.

At the stern, a large sunbathing area is located on the left side and on the right, an aisle allows access to the center of the boat, without having to walk on the cushions. This layout is similar to that of its predecessor. The main area is equipped with a custom-designed center console with two bucket seats, for the pilot and co-pilot. Passengers can sit on the bench right behind. Finally, by removing the backrest of the bench, it can be coupled with the stern sunbathing area to create an even larger resting area.

An open hull for more space on board

The open hull concept makes it easier to move around the boat by providing a great deal of freedom of movement. It also facilitates access to the bow when docking. Finally, this space also provides ample storage space: in the stern, under the side aisle, under the front and rear sunbathing areas, in the compartment at the end of the bow and on each side of the boat. An optional refrigerator is available under the aft sundeck seats.

Powerful and family-friendly navigation

Its step hull, which favors lift-off, provides an exhilarating driving sensation and allows for very high speeds. This day-cruiser is equally suited to family sailing, a quiet picnic along the coast, or a fast ride in the waves. The 747 Mirage Air is still a supercar, just like the Mirage 747 in design and performance, but with more space to take friends and family for a ride.

It is available with four different inboard engines, three Mercruiser gasoline and one Volvo Penta Diesel, ranging from 220 hp to 430 hp, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 56 knots. The propulsion is a Z-drive and its 240-liter fuel tank makes it suitable for long trips.

The 747 Mirage Air is customizable as customers can choose from a wide range of interior and exterior colors. Like all of the brand's boats, the 747 Mirage Air is produced at the Frauscher shipyard in Ohlsdorf, Austria, which opened in 2012. The boat will have its world premiere from March 5-8 at the Austrian Boat Show in Tulln. The first customer deliveries are scheduled for summer 2015.
