On June 30, four Australian surfers had the chance to meet a whale just a few hundred metres from Sydney beach, under the eyes of spectators gathered on the rocks. The scene could have been filmed by a helicopter and according to the authorities it would be a pregnant female. According to the same source, surfers would not have been very vigilant in approaching the animal so close, especially when you know that it was expecting a baby. The safety distance to be respected must be at least 100 metres.
