In less than 4 months, the start of the Solitaire du Figaro will take place, and 20 skippers are already registered for this 46th edition. This year again, between 40 and 45 boats are expected to set off from Bordeaux.

The first names of the skippers registered for the Solitaire are representative of the diversity of profiles expected in this race. On the program: three former winners, circuit tenors, talented women, rookies, amateurs and many foreignersâ?¦ The 2015 circuit already looks promising!

Past winners ready to repeat their victory

The last winner of the Solitaire du Figaro, Jeremie Beyou, looks back on this 46th edition of the race e This is the first time that he will be able to defend his title in this edition of the race. The triple winner âeuros 2005, 2011 and 2014 âeuros hopes to retain his title and will be the first skipper to register for the 4 e times in this race. He will have to deal with a double winner, Yann Eliès (2012 and 2013) who has set himself the goal of achieving a triple. Finally, Alain Gautier, winner in 1989 had already returned to the 45 e and tries again this year.

Stage winning skippers

Despite their stage victories and their very good places in the general ranking, these skippers never had the opportunity to win the race. To remedy their disappointment, Gildas Morvan, Thierry Chabagny, Adrien Hardy and Corentin Douguet have signed up. Corentin Horeau, 2 e of the 2014 edition, also hopes to win the prestigious title.

Promising skippers

They are fully aware of their desire to win and intend to do everything they can to achieve it. Among the registered sailors, we note the British Henry Bomby, Sébastien Simon, Vincent Biarnes, Laurent Pellecuer and Gwénolé Gahinet, first rookie in 2014 and winner of the Transat AG2R La Mondiale. For the moment, only two women are registered at the start, Isabelle Joschke and Claire Pruvot who will rely on their experience to win.

The newcomers of the race

Marc Pouydebat, physiotherapist in Mérignac and Martin Le Pape are trying the solo race this year, after his joint participation with Roland Jourdain in the Transat AG2R La Mondiale. Benjamin Dutreux has also been preparing for this first time for many months. Finally, Benoit Mariette and Tolga Pamir (who will be the 1st er Turkish of the history of La Solitaire) are leaving the 6.50 monohull for the world of the Figaro Bénéteau.
