Here's a summary of the regattas and offshore races for the week of August 25 to September 1, 2023. On the program: victories, a record, the Class J, and the AC40.

First Atlantic record in a Mini 6.50

Skipper Jay Thomson has set the first reference time in a Mini 6.50 for crossing the Atlantic from west to east, achieving this performance in 17 days, 9 hours, 57 minutes and 43 seconds, between New York and Lizard Point.

A podium upset after Jury on the first leg of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec

Skipper Benoit Tuduri has been demoted from 1st to 4th place in the first leg of the Solitaire du Figaro for failing to comply with the matossage rules. Julie Simon, who had finished 3rd, was demoted to 17th place for failing to comply with the DST. Tom Dolan, the local of the stage, moves up from 2nd to the top step of the podium.

French Foil Moth Championship: victory for Enzo Balanger

Held from August 17 to 20, 2023 in Quiberon, the French Moth à Foils championship was won by Enzo Balanger, closely followed by England's Eddie Bridle.

Barcelona hosts the Class J World Cup

With the America's Cup in October 2024, Barcelona has been designated to host the J Class World Championships from October 7 to 11, 2024.

First start on the Global solo challenge

Dafydd Hughes was the first competitor to cross the starting line of the Global Solo Challenge in La Coruña on August 26, 2023 aboard his 34-foot Sparkman & Stephens. Further starts will be staggered until January 6, 2024.
