The market for motor catamarans continues to gain traction among boaters seeking space, range, and comfort on board. It is in this context that VEYA Yachts will make its official debut with the VEYA 53, a 16.50-meter multihull set to make its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026. Beyond the boat itself, several questions arise: what can this new brand offer, what is its industrial credibility, and how does its first model stack up against already well-established competition?

A new brand born from the merger of Fountaine Pajot and Couach
The main point of interest surrounding VEYA is its origins. Unlike many young brands created from scratch, VEYA is backed by two long-standing companies in the French boating industry. The brand is the result of a joint venture between Fountaine Pajot and Couach. The former has established itself over several decades as one of the world?s leading manufacturers of recreational catamarans. The latter is a specialist in composite construction whose history is closely tied to the world of motor yachts.
This structure allows VEYA to maintain its own identity while benefiting from proven expertise in their respective fields. The challenge now is to bring these two nautical cultures together in a cohesive line of cruising motor catamarans. This initiative also reflects the two groups? desire to establish a presence in a market experiencing sustained growth.

The VEYA 53 is entering an already highly competitive market
Launching a new 53-foot model in 2026 is no small feat. The market for premium motor catamarans has become significantly more competitive in recent years. The VEYA 53 already faces several well-established competitors, including Aquila, Leopard, and Prestige with its M Line range, all of which hold strong positions among recreational boaters and charter companies.
To succeed in this market, a newcomer must offer a clear identity. VEYA emphasizes living spaces, ease of movement on board, and an open connection to the outdoors. These criteria have become decisive for owners who now use their boats as true floating homes. The forward salon, flybridge, and aft cockpit all contribute to this pursuit of complementary spaces capable of accommodating multiple activities simultaneously without disrupting life on board.

A platform designed to enhance life on board
With an overall length of 16.50 meters and a beam of nearly 8 meters, the VEYA 53 naturally offers ample space. The interior layout is available in three- or four-cabin configurations. In the owner?s configuration, a suite occupies a significant portion of the available space, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings. Each cabin features its own bathroom, a feature now standard in this class of yacht.

The open-concept layout combines a spacious living area and kitchen to maintain a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. This design reflects new trends in boating, where time spent at anchor is often just as important as time spent underway.

Range designed for coastal and offshore cruising
The other major consideration concerns the intended cruising range. The VEYA 53 comes standard with two 440-hp Yanmar engines. A version producing 550 hp per engine is also available. The fuel tanks have a total capacity of 2,000 liters, to which two additional tanks of 400 liters each can be added. Freshwater capacity is 700 liters, while the draft, limited to 1.10 meters, facilitates access to many coastal anchorages.
On paper, these features clearly position the boat as a vessel designed for extended cruising. Its CE Category A certification for 11 people further confirms its suitability for offshore sailing.

Facilities designed for water sports
The VEYA 53 is designed for owners who spend a significant amount of time at anchor. This focus is reflected in several specialized features. The hydraulic swim platform makes it easy to get in and out of the water. The spacious storage compartment in the transom provides room for diving gear, paddleboards, or various water sports equipment.
The flybridge is also a living space in its own right, offering unobstructed views of the horizon. As for the forward salon, it complements the outdoor relaxation areas and allows for the simultaneous use of multiple areas of the boat. This proliferation of living spaces responds to a well-identified market trend: today?s boaters are seeking greater versatility on board rather than simply increased performance.

Cannes 2026: A Crucial Event for VEYA
The Cannes Yachting Festival, which will take place from September 8 to 13, 2026, will mark the VEYA 53?s debut on the market.
