The Leopard 53 Powercat is a 53'1" motor catamaran (16.19 m with platform), 7.67 m wide, with a 1 m draught. The shipyard is announcing a redesign centered on the ergonomics of the spaces, the management of mechanical nuisances and the organization of living areas, with a level of equipment that is strongly built to order.

Hull, engine and speed figures
The boat retains its proven hull, powered by two 370 hp Yanmar 8LV370s. Reported performance figures give 25 N for top speed, 17.5 N for cruising and 7.9 N for economy cruising. A single-engine mode is also quoted at 6.8 N in economy. Total fuel capacity is announced at 2,130 l, divided between two fuel tanks, which is well suited to long-distance cruising programs where refueling planning remains a constraint.

Advertised autonomy and reading performance curves
The data provided indicate 342 miles at maximum speed, 463 miles at cruising speed, and up to 1,330 miles of maximum range. With a single engine, the maximum range is 1,995 nautical miles. The performance curves associated with this model serve primarily to link speed, rpm and load, rather than to settle on a single value, since actual displacement, sea state and hull fouling have a direct influence on fuel consumption and speed performance.

Separate machine room and noise control
One of the developments highlighted was the grouping of main systems in a separate, sealed machine room. The stated aim is to reduce noise and vibration in living spaces. On a powercat, this is achieved in three areas: insulation of engine compartments, watertightness and network passages, and ventilation, which must remain efficient to maintain acceptable temperatures during navigation and at anchor.

Aft cockpit, bathing platform and tender logic
The exterior layout has been revised, with a rear cockpit offered in two versions: a modular configuration known as Alfresco, or a more traditional fixed layout. Circulation to the bathing platform is advertised as improved. An electric lifting platform is offered as an option, with a dual purpose: dinghy support in the upper position, and a water-level relaxation area in the lower position. This type of equipment weighs heavily on the energy balance and maintenance, as it adds a system and components exposed to salt.

Redesigned flybridge and outdoor living facilities
The flybridge features more spacious seating, adjustable backrests and a cockpit that has been reworked for improved visibility and ergonomics. A bar and outdoor kitchen module is integrated, with sink, grill and refrigeration. Lighting is also mentioned, with ambient and task lighting integrated into the flybridge, useful for night-time manoeuvres and life at anchor.

Interior layout, galley and 3-cabin version
Inside, the saloon and galley have been reorganized to create a more fluid layout between meal preparation, dining area and saloon. The model is available in 3 or 4 cabins, each with private bathroom. The 3-cabin version features an owner's suite cabin with double bed and storage space. Standard equipment includes a double-door domestic-style refrigerator, 4-burner gas stove, microwave convection oven and Avonite worktops.

On-board energy and program options
Standard features include 12 V digital switching, a Yacht Sense system, a 3,000 W 220 V converter for the microwave oven and a 1,200 W 220 V converter for the refrigerator, with 4 x 180 Ah lead-acid service batteries and 4 x 100 Ah AGM starter batteries. The list of options includes Northern Lights 12 kW generator, 400 W solar panel packs mounted on rigid bimini in 2, 4 or 6 panels, LiFePO4 lithium batteries, chilled-water air conditioning or Termodinamica systems, and 60 l/h or 95 l/h 12 V watermakers. These stations determine anchorage autonomy, the use of an electric galley, and the ability to operate without a dock, especially with equipment such as a washing machine, dishwasher, ice maker or underwater lighting.

Tariff and costed configuration from options list
For the 220 V version, departing from Saint Raphaël, the price of the standard boat is 1,359,000 EXCL. TAX . The total options shown amount to ?446,034, for a total purchase price excluding VAT of ?1,805,034.
