A series designed to limit order options

Bavaria Yachts is launching a Signature Edition on several units in its sailing and motor yacht ranges. The principle is simple: to integrate, from the outset, equipment often selected by buyers, with a revised exterior presentation and updated interior layout. For yachtsmen and professionals alike, the advantage is to have a clearer definition of the boat, without having to go through a long list of options when ordering.

A more precise definition for Cruiser sailboats

On the yacht side, the Signature Edition applies to the Bavaria Cruiser 34, Cruiser 37 and Cruiser 46, models which the shipyard presents as among the most popular in its range. On these boats, the standard equipment includes a number of features usually chosen as optional extras. The Selden in-mast furling system, chosen by Bavaria Yachts for over 90% of its yachts, is fitted as standard on this version. Alternatively, a conventional sport mast with lazy-bags can be chosen at no extra charge.

B&G navigation electronics also come as standard, with plotter, displays, VHF with AIS and remote-controlled autopilot. The higher-power engine, normally billed as an option, is also included. On board, the equipment also includes stainless steel cleats, fenders, mooring lines, a large cockpit table, stainless steel handrails, reading lights with USB sockets, mosquito nets, and teak on the seats and cockpit floor.

Below deck, Bavaria Yachts announces a light Nordic oak ambience with elm flooring. Externally, this series also features new hull stripes. The Cruiser 34 Signature Edition is priced at ?150,000 ex VAT.

An engine offer refocused on day and anchorage use

For powerboats, the Signature Edition is offered on the Bavaria S29, S30 and S45. Here again, the shipyard concentrates in a single definition equipment related to everyday use. On the S29 SE and S30 SE, the cockpit features a new instrument layout, organized around a Simrad multifunction display for engine data and navigation.

Standard equipment also includes an electric windlass, sun loungers and a cockpit shower. These features are clearly aimed at the short stopover, the day in the bay or the lunchtime anchorage. Inside, Bavaria Yachts has chosen light Nordic oak, wenge flooring and cold foam mattresses for the berths. Fusion sound systems are installed in both cockpit and saloon.

The Bavaria S29 SE is priced at ?155,500 ex VAT. On the S45 SE, the shipyard is also planning a PLATIN equipment upgrade, including generator, air conditioning and other extras.

A commercial offering that goes beyond the boat

In addition to the boats themselves, Bavaria Yachts is offering this series with a financing solution and insurance coverage, but only for German and Dutch customers. The shipyard says it is working with akf Bank to offer financing from ?999/month, in order to limit recourse to savings available at the time of purchase.

On the insurance front, Bavaria Yachts is highlighting an agreement with Pantaenius Yacht Insurance. Under this agreement, the "propulsion clause" is included in all-risk insurance at no extra cost, again for Germany and the Netherlands. This clause covers damage to propellers and propulsion systems.

The logic behind this Signature Edition is summed up by Norbert Leifeld, Managing Director of Bavaria Yachts: " A clear definition of standard equipment rather than a complex choice of options, bringing real added value to the owner. A purchasing process as simple as possible â?" from the boat itself, to financing, to insurance. We want customers who buy a BAVARIA YACHTS SIGNATURE EDITION to be able to do so as easily as possible, and get everything from a single source: their BAVARIA YACHTS partner. This is an important point for us "explains Norbert Leifeld.

In the final analysis, this Signature Edition reflects a classic market trend: to offer boats that are more clearly defined upstream, with fewer arbitrations to be made at the order stage. In both the cruising and motorboat segments, this type of offer enables the reader to see more quickly the actual level of equipment, and thus to compare units more clearly.
