The Chris Craft Launch 27 continues the tradition of the American shipyard's inboard bowriders. This 8.10 m overall model is designed for a day's sailing program, both on coastal and inland waters.

An 8.10 m runabout with balanced dimensions

The Chris Craft Launch 27 has an overall length of 8.10 m and a maximum beam of 2.60 m. Length at waterline is 7.60 m. The freeboard at the beam is 0.79 m.

The draught varies according to the position of the bases, 0.94 m with engines raised. Light displacement with a 430 hp Mercury V8 is announced at 2,531 kg, for a laden displacement of 3,143 kg.

Maximum capacity is set at 10 people. The fuel tank offers 292 L and the freshwater capacity is 34 L.

18° V-shaped hull and inverted transom

The Chris Craft Launch 27 is based on a moderate V-shaped hull. The transom angle is 13°. The design incorporates an inverted transom and a tulip-shaped bow, characteristic elements of the brand.

The hull is made of laminated polyester. The deck fittings, retractable cleats, flush plates and fittings are in stainless steel. Teak handrails line the side decks.

Mercury and Volvo V8 inboard engines

The Chris Craft Launch 27 is offered exclusively with inboard petrol engines.

Mercury's range includes 6.2 L V8s with 300 and 350 hp, and 8.2 L V8s with 380 and 430 hp, with Digital Throttle and Shift electronic controls. At Volvo, 5.3 L V8s are available in 300 and 350 hp, and 6.2 L V8s in 380 and 430 hp, combined with EVC.

Maximum power is 430 hp, with a maximum engine weight of 509 kg. Technical options such as Active Trim or SeaCore treatment are available depending on the configuration chosen.

Seakeeper Ride system as standard

The Chris Craft Launch 27 features the Seakeeper Ride system as standard. This system uses interceptors positioned on the transom to automatically adjust pitch and roll while underway.

The system acts continuously to maintain a constant sailing angle and limit heeling due to the distribution of loads on board.

Open cockpit and modularity

The deck layout adopts a bowrider configuration. At the bow, a U-shaped space welcomes passengers with bench seats and cushions. The central cockpit features two bucket seats at the helm and on the port side. The backrests are widened and incorporate a stainless steel support point.

The driver and passenger seats swivel back to create a convivial space in the rear cockpit. At the rear, two longitudinal sunbeds are fitted above the engine compartment.

Storage lockers are located under the seats to accommodate such items as threshing gear, anchors and on-board equipment. A teak table can be installed in the cockpit.

Heritage bathing platform and finishes

The reverse transom is clad in teak. The bathing platform, also clad in teak depending on the finish chosen, incorporates a retractable bathing ladder and hand shower.

A bimini is supplied as standard, and hides in the line of the boat when folded. An electric version with assisted deployment is available as an option.

Two trim levels are available. The Heritage Trim Edition includes teak on the hood, scrollwork, platform and rear handrails. The Heritage Edition adds an all-teak floor.

The Chris Craft Launch 27 is positioned as an 8.10 m, V8-powered inboard runabout, with a modular open cockpit and an aesthetic treatment featuring teak and stainless steel.

The base price announced for the Chris Craft Launch 27 is $219,500. This price corresponds to an entry-level configuration, generally with a mid-range V8 engine and standard equipment, including the Seakeeper Ride system and retractable bimini. It remains to be seen at what price it will one day arrive on our European shores?
