A sea incident occurred in Toulon harbor, requiring a coordinated response from the emergency services. CROSS Med launched a rescue operation following the report of a collision involving a 26-foot open stranded on the main jetty.
A boat stranded on the main pier

The alert was given at 8:05 am. A Pardo 36, after a collision in circumstances yet to be determined, ran aground against the large jetty in Toulon harbor. Two people on board were injured and required rapid medical attention.
The proximity of the port structure and local conditions required immediate action to secure the boat and assist its occupants.
An operation coordinated by CROSS Med

CROSS Med took charge of coordinating the life-saving operation. Priority was given to providing medical assistance to the injured and securing the area, in order to avoid any worsening of the situation, particularly in the event of worsening conditions or movements of the grounded vessel.

This type of incident is a reminder of the importance of the permanent watch provided by the regional operational centers, particularly in areas with a high density of pleasure craft.
SNSM resources mobilized
Two SNSM units were involved in the operation, the intervention launch SNS 155 and the semi-rigid SNS 7 010. The onboard rescuers provided assistance to the injured and helped secure the vessel.
Given the positioning of this highly motorized unit on the dike, it is conceivable that a navigation error associated with excessive speed, as well as a failure to keep watch, were the cause of the accident.

Removal will probably have to be carried out by a barge equipped with a crane, as towing is not possible due to the boat's "high" grounding.
This incident is a reminder that sailing in roadsteads and approaching ports requires constant vigilance, even in apparently favorable conditions. The sea rescue services remain mobilized on a daily basis to respond to this type of situation involving yachtsmen.
