THE DOCK-BR- shipyard, based in Lanvéoc since 2019, is expanding the capacity of Brest harbor for large multihulls. The arrival of the IDEC trimaran in September 2025 represents a significant technical operation. This stopover underlines the site's ambitions in terms of ocean racing and the local nautical sector.
Capacity adapted to large units
The docking of the IDEC trimaran at THE DOCK-BR facilities shows that the shipyard is now capable of handling vessels of unprecedented dimensions. Even when moored ashore, a trimaran of this size requires controlled logistics, reinforced mooring areas and high-capacity lifting equipment. This infrastructure makes it possible to envisage heavy maintenance operations not only for maxi-trimarans, but also for technical vessels and yachts.
A desire to structure an ocean racing sector on the Crozon peninsula
Beyond the technical aspects, THE DOCK-BR- project is based on a territorial ambition. Its founder, Arnaud Godart-Philippe, a former Figaro racer and company director, is seeking to establish a genuine racing stable in this part of Finistère. Hosting major projects such as Alexia Barrier's and the Jules Verne Trophy is part of a medium-term strategy, in which Brest harbor could become a preparation base for international ocean campaigns.
Combining skills to serve the needs of superyachts
While ocean racing provides a media and technical showcase, the shipyard is also targeting the superyacht market. The Lanvéoc location, which complements the structures in Brest, enables us to meet growing demand for yacht and specialized unit maintenance. The challenge for THE DOCK-BR- is to pool technical skills between racing, yachting and professional vessels, while enhancing the attractiveness of the harbor.
