HOLLD 74: a semi-custom carbon multihull

A new shipyard enters the multihull world. Dutch carbon builder HOLLD unveils its first catamaran. The HOLLD 74 heralds a different approach to fast cruising multihulls.

The Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2025 will see the official launch of HOLLD, a shipyard based in Zwartsluis, the Netherlands. For its first appearance, this structure will unveil the HOLLD 74, a 22.50-meter ocean-going catamaran built in carbon and designed for long-distance cruising. This multihull targets a demanding audience of sailors and owners in search of performance, comfort and customization.

A structure made entirely of infused carbon

The HOLLD 74 is built from epoxy-infused carbon fiber, a technique widely used in the superyacht sector. This process guarantees lightness and structural rigidity. The claimed light displacement is 23.95 tons, with a full-load gauge of 30 tons. The choice of carbon reduces top weights, enhancing dynamic stability.

Modular design and semi-custom approach

The HOLLD shipyard has developed a modular platform where interior and exterior layouts can be adapted to suit the owner's needs. The available volume allows several configurations, with a central living area extended by a protected cockpit. The interior features a saloon, fully-equipped galley and customizable cabins, all with heating and air-conditioning.

Performance-oriented hull and propulsion

The catamaran has a beam of 10.20 meters and a draft of 1.45 meters. It is powered by two Yanmar 4LV150s with saildrive transmission, complemented by a Sleipner 210 thruster. The mast height reaches 31 meters, allowing for generous mainsail configurations. This motorization ensures efficient maneuverability in port, while maintaining sustained cruising capacity.

Steering, comfort at sea and ergonomics

The interior helm station provides all-weather control from the shelter of the coachroof. The recessed cockpit offers effective protection, while side sunbathing areas and rear platforms with integrated davits complete the exterior equipment. Every ergonomic choice seems to have been made with offshore cruising in mind.

A site strategy focused on technical expertise

Founded by a team of engineers and technicians with experience in superyacht construction, HOLLD applies standards to multihulls that were previously reserved for very large yachts. The shipyard boasts digital control of the construction process, from infusion to layout, including on-board systems.
