Tablets to replace liquid products on board
The use of solid cleaning products now extends to boating. With its SIMPLY DOSE range, French manufacturer Matt Chem offers a practical, lightweight alternative to conventional canisters. Two flagship products, SIMPLY WASH for polyester surfaces and SIMPLY GLASS for windows, have been tested in real-life conditions.
A solution adapted to on-board storage constraints
The tablet format responds to a recurring problem on board cruisers and fishing boats alike: lack of space and waste management. Packaged in space-saving cardboard boxes (128 grams), SIMPLY DOSE tablets effectively replace plastic bottles. The volume and weight savings, combined with the absence of water in the formula, reduce the environmental impact of transport.
Each tablet is dosed for a specific use:

SIMPLY GLASS 2 tablets of 5 grams per 500 ml of solution
The products are effective even in hard water, without leaving traces or altering sensitive surfaces such as aluminum.
Performance in the field: testing the SIMPLY WASH
Our SIMPLY WASH test was carried out on a Leader from the 2000s. One tablet was dissolved in a 5-liter bucket of cold water. The instructions indicate a solubilization time of 3 to 5 minutes, and advise the use of lukewarm water. Once diluted, the product has good foaming power. Applied with a soft deck brush, the cleaner removed encrusted dirt without excessive mechanical effort. After rinsing, the gelcoat was left looking clean and uniform, with no visible traces.
Assessment of practical and environmental aspects
The SIMPLY DOSE range focuses on ease of use and eco-responsibility. The packaging is made from recyclable cardboard, and the formula is water-free, considerably reducing the weight carried. What's more, the products are formulated without preservatives, and the tablet is stable until use.
The formulations are rich in active ingredients and compatible with fragile substrates. Manufactured in France by a family-run business, the products are part of a drive to reduce single-use plastics.
