Upholstery, covers, biminis and technical garments are constantly exposed to a humid environment. Maintaining these textiles requires treatments capable of limiting water impregnation without altering the materials. Solutions are evolving, particularly in environmental terms.
Hydrophobic treatment for on-board textiles
Nautic Clean's Waterproofing Textile 05 comes in liquid form, packaged in a 750 ml spray bottle. It is applied undiluted to a clean, dry surface, after preliminary cleaning. Application is conventional: spray evenly until the surface is moistened, then allow to dry at room temperature for a few hours.
The formulation makes different types of textiles hydrophobic. The aim is to limit the penetration of water and aqueous soiling, often the cause of mildew, rings and stains on fabrics exposed outdoors.
A PFAS-free, water-based formulation
The product is claimed to be free from PFAS, environmentally persistent fluorinated polymers. It is water-based, non-flammable, with a pH of around 3.5 and a density close to 0.99. The surfactants meet the biodegradability criteria of the European Detergents Regulation.
Suggested retail price: 26.70 Âeuros (incl. VAT) per 750 ml.
