SIMPLY TARTRE completes Simply Dose range with tablet descaler in 2026

On-board storage and transportation of cleaning products remain major constraints. Concentrated and water-free formats meet these needs, while reducing on-board volumes. With this in mind, a new product has been added to Matt Chem's Simply Dose range.

On board a boat, descaling concerns both sanitary fittings and surfaces exposed to sea spray and salt deposits. Products must be effective without damaging gelcoat, metals or plastics. This is where the arrival of a new descaling cleaner in tablet form comes in.

An effervescent descaler for everyday on-board use

Scheduled for release in 2026, Matt Chem's SIMPLY TARTRE will expand the SIMPLY DOSE range with a descaling cleaner in effervescent tablet form. Each 5 g tablet is designed to be diluted in water, at a rate of two tablets per 500 ml. A box of 20 doses makes 10 sprays. The product is advertised as effective in hard water and formulated without free acid, with a pH measured at 1.8 in 1% solution.

The descaler acts on scale veils, salt deposits and greasy soiling. It is compatible with washable painted surfaces, gelcoat, glass, plastics, chromes, stainless steels and anodized aluminum, all materials commonly found on pleasure boats.

Compact size and technical specifications

SIMPLY TARTRE comes in the form of compact, red, lemon-scented tablets containing 100% active ingredients. Packaged in a recyclable cardboard box, the product is designed to take up very little space, a sensitive point on board. The prepared solution can be stored for up to 15 days.

The procedure is simple: dissolve the tablets in a 500 ml spray for 2 to 3 minutes, spray on for a few minutes, then rinse with clean water. A special application is also available for descaling toilet bowls, with one or two tablets depending on the degree of scaling, and an action time of at least 30 minutes.

The recommended retail price is ?29.90 per box of 20 lozenges, i.e. ?2.99 per 500 ml spray. Made in France by Matt Chem Product.
