A range of expedition catamarans for greater comfort and stability
Bering Yachts designs and builds steel expedition yachts, as well as semi-custom luxury trawlers, in a range of sizes from 65 to 165 feet. In January 2025, the manufacturer announced a turning point in its strategy with the launch of three expedition catamaran models, the BC60, BC70 and BC80. The stated aim? To adopt a two-hull configuration to guarantee greater cruising comfort, enhanced stability and more generous volumes. And for this new range, Bering Yachts has opted for aluminum instead of steel.
The shipyard has divided its production between two sites. Superstructures are produced at its Bulgarian yard, which specializes in aluminum work, while hulls are assembled and equipped in Antalya, Turkey. This organization ensures complete control of the construction process, from design to final integration.

A new model in the Bering Yachts exploration range
The first model presented is the BC80, designed for long-distance cruising, with a focus on onboard comfort, energy efficiency and autonomy. Designed for transoceanic voyages with a range in excess of 4,000 miles, it boasts a length of 24 m, a beam of 10.80 m and a draught of 1.50 m. To ensure autonomy, it is equipped with fuel tanks with a capacity of 26,700 L and water tanks of 4,400 L. Its displacement hull is powered by two Volvo Penta engines, each rated at 700 hp, and sails at a cruising speed of 9 knots, with a top speed of 12 knots. Optional engines are available for those who want even greater performance.

A layout that maximizes space and autonomy
The main deck offers over 60 m² of space, including a vast saloon with relaxation area, dining area, bar and small gym. It also incorporates a full-width galley with ample storage and refrigeration space. A technical room for equipment such as air conditioning is also present in this space, away from the living areas.

The lower deck houses all 7 cabins, including the owner's suite occupying the entire starboard float, with a large dressing room and private bathroom. Crew quarters are located in the port float, with an independent companionway leading to the main deck. This level can be configured with several layout options, according to the customer's wishes.

The upper deck features a 25 m² salon, convertible into an office, cinema or relaxation area. An optional flybridge adds a further 65.5 m² of outdoor space. Without the flybridge, the BC80's total exterior surface area exceeds 300 m², including areas for alfresco dining, sunbathing and outdoor lounging.
