A 16 m model for program versatility
While the first hull of the Ocean Explorer 26 was built at the end of 2023 and that of the Ocean Explorer 22 completed this summer 2024, Dutch shipyard Steeler Yachts unveils a third model in its exploration yacht range, the Explorer 16. This 16 m long yacht combines modern design, comfort and program versatility.
A strong link between inside and outside
The Explorer 16 is distinguished by its three-deck configuration, where the main deck is the centerpiece of the boat. The living area and near-full-width cockpit create an integration between interior and exterior spaces, thanks to side and aft windows that can be opened or closed. This feature guarantees space and comfort in all weather conditions, making the Explorer 16 ideal for a wide range of sailing areas. The almost entirely glazed superstructure also makes the interior ultra-bright.
A single-level main deck for luxury and comfort
The aft platform, where the tender can be stored, also has a garage in the transom. A few steps lead up to the small cockpit, protected by the flybridge hatch. The single-storey saloon features an inviting lounge aft, with seating that swivels towards the sea and balconies. Forward, a fully-equipped U-shaped galley with bar is located on the starboard side, with a dining area on the port side.
The spacious wheelhouse, with its huge dashboard, offers two pilot seats and a small adjoining saloon. The wheelhouse also acts as a link between the different levels of the boat, thanks to a spiral staircase.
Three cabins and two bathrooms
The yacht's lower deck accommodates three spacious cabins and two bathrooms, providing ample space and privacy for guests. The flybridge is designed as an entertainment area, where guests can gather and enjoy the panoramic views. There's a large C-shaped saloon, a galley that doubles as a bar, and a double helm station forward. The aft area is equipped with a crane for loading "toys".
Balconies overlooking the sea
One of the unbeatable features of the Explorer 16 is the folding bulwarks on the port and starboard sides. These balconies provide additional outdoor space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The attention to detail makes the interior luxurious and spacious. They also provide access to the foredeck, with its huge sunbathing area.
