ePropulsion, world leader in marine electric propulsion systems, announces the compatibility of its motors with multifunction displays (MFDs) via the new Smart Gateway. This capability enables owners of ePropulsion motors in the Spirit, Navy and Pod ranges to connect their equipment directly to MFDs via the NMEA 2000 standard. This new feature is designed to simplify integration and provide greater visibility of navigation data.

The compact, lightweight Smart Gateway (8.8 x 5 cm, 0.14 kg) is easily installed between the throttle and motor, with an additional port for connection to the display. Essential information, such as battery charge status and engine power, is then displayed clearly and concisely, improving user information.
Simplified integration and extended functionality

Nextfour's Q Experience is a touchscreen available in a range of sizes (from 10 to 24 inches) integrating on-board computer, map plotter, safety and monitoring functions, and an entertainment system. This intuitive device also offers weather forecasts, a radio connection, a cellular connection and a Wi-Fi hotspot for connecting other devices.
Danny Tao, CEO of ePropulsion, said: " We are delighted to bring this compatibility to our full range of electric motors via ePropulsion's Smart Gateway. ePropulsion and Nextfour share a common vision: to make navigation safer and more enjoyable. Our Smart Gateway enables ePropulsion customers to take full advantage of the powerful functionalities of Nextfour displays. "
Niklas Öhman, Nextfour CEO, added: " It was a great collaboration with the ePropulsion design team. The ePropulsion product range demonstrates exceptional innovation, and we're very excited to be offering our Q Experience displays to their customers. "
Availability and outlook
The Smart Gateway will be available in autumn 2024. This innovation marks a step forward in improving the user experience for boaters using ePropulsion electric motors.
