No weather briefing or technical debriefing today. We're leaving the routing for the rituals, putting away the fleeces to talk playlist. Luke Berry and Antoine Joubert, before setting off on their Atlantic crossing in an Ocean Fifty, come aboard for a no-nonsense interview.

Aboard the trimaran Le Rire Médecin - Lamotte this duo, formed in 2023, has quickly found its rhythm. Third in this 2025 edition of the Transat Café l'Or, they share here their pre-race rituals, their guilty pleasures at sea, and a few truths about everyday life for two on the high seas.

The exercise is light, but not futile. This short, rhythmic and slightly spicy format also reveals what makes a good tandem on board. Their first memories on the water, the sailors who made them dream as children, and even the shortcomings on board (spoiler: it's not a winch), everything is covered.
We come across a dream dish at the finish (be careful, it makes you hungry), a fetish and a few heartfelt confessions between co-skippers. All set against the backdrop of the Transat, with the human and sporting values they embark on every tack.

Luke Berry, who has sailed in Minis and Class40s and has been at the helm of an Ocean Fifty since 2023, boasts a wealth of experience and the precision of a naval engineer. As for Antoine Joubert, he completes this pairing with energy and a complicity that is palpable in every response.
A format that's both intimate and funny, offering a different take on ocean racing. Watch it at the end of the day, like a gust of wind under a spinnaker: it's hair-raising, but it goes straight.
