The Massilia Cup Inshore was held on April 12, 13 and 14, 2024. This regatta, open to all regatta enthusiasts, took place in cinema-like conditions with "festive" weather. Organized by CNTL-Marseille, the club inaugurated free registration. This solution led to a 20% increase in the number of participants.

The Cercle Nautique et Touristique du Lacydon (CNTL) in Marseille has taken a bold initiative for the 2024 Massilia Cup Inshore by offering free registration. This decision was aimed at maximizing participation in the event, especially in the context of Marseille being the center of sailing competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games. The effect was immediate: a 20% increase in registrations over the previous year, a testament to the success of this strategy. This initiative, in addition to being renewed, reflects a clear commitment to making sailing more accessible and strengthening the appeal of this international competition.

Weather conditions that defy conventional strategies

The Massilia Cup Inshore 2024 took place in summer weather, marked by light and shifty winds, presenting significant challenges for the race committees. These conditions demanded great adaptability and illustrated the organizers' expertise in race management. Courses were adjusted in real time, demonstrating exemplary responsiveness to maintain fairness and sporting challenge. These weather adjustments not only tested the skills of the sailors, but also highlighted the CNTL's organizational skills.

Community impact and recognition

The 2024 edition of the Massilia Cup was also marked by a notable participation of different classes of sailboats, from light cruisers to one-designs, highlighting the diversity of liveaboard sailing. The presence of the President of the French Sailing Federation at the closing ceremony underlines the importance of this regatta in the nautical calendar. The approval and praise from participants for the organization and innovation of the races confirms the positive impact of these changes on the sailing community.
