On April 28, 2024 at 1:30 pm, the 33 IMOCA, 13 Class40 and 2 Vintage boats in the Transat CIC will set sail from Lorient towards New York. Here's how to follow the start of this tough North Atlantic race.

On land, experience the emotion of the Lorient la Base village

For a lively and friendly atmosphere, the Lorient la Base village will plunge you into the electric atmosphere of a race start. The village gates will open at 8 a.m., and the sailors will be presented on stage from 8:30. From 9:30 am to 11:30 am, watch the boats set sail, an emotionally-charged moment when the sailors finalize their preparations before the big start.

From 12.55pm, the start will be broadcast live on a giant screen from the Sant-Erwann stage. Catering will be available throughout the day, until the village closes at 5pm.

When at sea, respect the restricted zone

For those planning to follow the start from the sea, it is essential to respect the restricted zone defined by the Préfecture Maritime. This zone will be activated from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. to ensure the safety of competitors and spectators. Please note that the activation end time may be adjusted according to race conditions and requirements.
