Bali Catamarans unveils its new flagship model for its 10th anniversary: the Bali 5.8

At 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, the generous dimensions of the next Bali 5.8 make it the largest model in the range. This large catamaran, with its linked interior and exterior, offers numerous cabin configurations as well as immense outdoor living spaces. To be discovered on the water in September 2024.

The largest model in the range

For its 10th anniversary, Bali Catamarans unveils the visuals of its new and largest model, the Bali 5.8. 18 m long and 9 m wide, this catamaran is the work of the shipyard's R&D teams and the Piaton-Bercault design studio.

Numerous cabin configurations

Below deck, there are numerous layout configurations, from 3 to 6 cabins, double or twin, with double or single crew cabins and a very large master cabin. The latter features a redesigned bathroom with XXL shower. All cabins feature an island bed for easy access to either side of the bed. Even in the 6-cabin version, bathrooms feature separate showers and WCs for added comfort.

A mingled interior and exterior

The saloon-cockpit, with its tilt-and-turn door, is one of the brand's hallmarks. This creates a large indoor-outdoor living space. The outside bench seat facing the saloon invites you to relax. The starboard dining area features a chaise longue and table for 12. On the other side, you can choose between a bench seat or two lounge chairs with an integrated bar.

The front kitchen offers plenty of storage space, a wider worktop and a U-shaped layout.

The chart table, on the port side, is isolated from the rest of the living spaces, positioned in the direction of travel. The front door and large opening window create a welcome ventilation tunnel inside.

Particular attention has been paid to crew accommodation, with the possibility of installing a large double Captain's cabin in the Master version of the Bali 5.8.

A multifunctional front deck

On the front page, the shipyard justifies the decision to fully deck the boat with the aim of making it even stiffer under sail, and achieving better performance under power. To keep the boat's weight down, Bali has replaced the bulkhead reinforcements with carbon.

This is where you'll find a very large sunbathing and comfort area, as well as a dining and lounge area.

A rooftop flybridge

As on all models except the 38, the flybridge is described by the shipyard as a "rooftop". It's a space for watching, relaxing and sailing... Both lounge and sunbathing area, the flybridge is optimized and modular. The maneuvering and navigation area is clearly identified, with a 2/3 - 1/3 adjustable helm seat. A hardtop or bimini covers the entire flybridge for protection from the sun.

Easier access to the sea

In the cockpit, an armchair faces out to sea to keep an eye on the swimmers. The aft steps offer wider, more spacious bathing areas. The optional hydraulic platform can be submerged a few centimetres under the water to access the sea or support a tender.

Up to 240 m2 upwind sail area

Upwind sail area can be as much as 240 m2. The classic redans in the hulls reduce the wetted surface area, while guaranteeing volume in the hulls above the floor. The self-tacking jib facilitates maneuvering and can easily be coupled with a large Code 0.

Built at the shipyard's factory in Canet-en-Roussillon, the Bali 5.8 will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2024.
