Nine women sailors take part in the Challenge Région Bretagne - CMB Océane

In 2019, the Brittany Region and the CMB have created the Challenge Océane entirely dedicated to women. The Océane selection provides a young female sailor with the best resources to perform at the highest level in the Figaro Bénéteau Class. After supporting Élodie Bonafous (2019-21) and Chloé Le Bars (2022-23), last June the Filière launched a call for applications to find her new skipper. Nine candidates were selected. The sailors will now undergo technical and sporting assessments in Port-la-Forêt, from November 27 to December 1. At the end of this second phase, three women will qualify for the final, to be held from December 9 to 13. The new skipper will be announced on December 13.

The course will also be the same as in the real race for each class, with a compulsory waypoint: Ascension Island for the Ultim 32/23, San Pedro and Paolo for the IMOCA, Fernando de Naronha for the Ocean Fifty and Sal Island for the Class40.
