Air Head, odorless dry toilets for boats

When it comes to black water from WCs, the solution of black water tanks is not really successful. It's hard to get rid of unpleasant odours with this type of installation. So why not opt for dry toilets? Air Head offers odorless dry toilets.

How does it work?

Air head toilets separate urine from faeces. On the front, a tank collects liquids. Solids are then transferred to the bottom of the toilet on a bed of coconut fibres. This tank is continuously aerated by a fan, creating an airflow that draws out excess moisture while supplying oxygen.

Turn the crank

This process is enhanced by the use of an agitator handle. In this way, the contents are not piled up, but remain reasonably dry and aerated. Thanks to the agitation, the faeces are broken down into smaller parts, giving the microbes a larger working surface, for an effective absence of odours and active decomposition of organic matter. No more unpleasant odours!

Low power consumption

The fan, which must not be switched off, consumes 0.06 Ah. A small 10 W solar panel, a regulator and a small battery are enough to power it. But it can also be connected to the 12 V on board.

Once full, i.e. approximately every day for urine and every month for dry matter for a couple, the waste is emptied into the open sea or into an onshore composting system.

For the rest, these rotomolded toilets seem indestructible. They are made up of different parts which can be assembled together to form up to 32 combinations. As a result, these toilets fit into any boat.

Complete and ready to use, these toilets are available from ?1250
