Swan 108, a spacious, sleek 33 m maxi sailing yacht

The Swan 108 from the Nautor Swan shipyard features a reworked exterior design and a new cockpit layout for greater comfort and maneuverability. The spacious interior features four cabins and a huge, light-filled saloon.

Innovations in the cockpit

Positioned between the Swan 98 and Swan 120, the Swan 108 is based on the evolution of the previous Maxi Swan, particularly in terms of exterior lines. Built on a carbon hull, with a deck in Sprint epoxy technology using carbon molds, the yacht will be registered with the Rina charter classification. It introduces innovative solutions never before deployed by the Finnish shipyard. Designed with a moderate freeboard, like all Swans, this new model is presented by the shipyard as very seaworthy and comfortable at sea, even in very rough conditions, with a smooth passage through the waves.

This German Frers design features an innovative deck layout, with two cockpit solutions. The owner can choose between a step in the aft deck area or a completely flush deck. Both solutions offer an ideal sunbathing area aft and a well-protected saloon with large side benches and table.

The low-slung coachroof features an extra-wide companionway leading down to the saloon, creating a sense of continuity with the cockpit. Innovation is not only in style, but also in functionality. For example, the helm stations have been moved forward and raised to improve visibility and control. The aft part of the cockpit is now entirely available for sunbathing, sunbathing and relaxing. One of the most important innovations is the transom, which unfolds to create a large bathing platform, which also facilitates tender handling.

Exterior design revisited

The exterior design is by Micheletti + Partenaires, who have revisited the shapes and technical surfaces of the roof, playing on aerodynamics and proportions. The sail plan is advertised as efficient and easy to implement, thanks to the shipyard's experience in designing high-performance cruising yachts. For the mainsail, all possibilities, from the cruising-oriented boom furler to the regattaspecific gaff mainsail, are available, while the long base of the forward triangle allows up to four props to divide the forward sail area.

A warm, intimate interior

The interior, designed in-house by Misa Poggi, offers ample living space and comfort for owner and guests. The Swan 108 features an owner's suite forward, three guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms and a crew area. The designer chose light colors to give an idea of the boat's master builder, and dark colors for a more intimate atmosphere. The saloon is bright, thanks to three levels of glazing. There's a saloon, a beautiful dining room and a more intimate lounge forward, accessible via a few steps. The galley is located aft, close to the crew quarters.
