Double Everest for Maxime Sorel

" I am very proud to have accomplished my Double Everest, my dream for Vaincre la mucoviscidose and to show that everything is possible in life. It's done! I have completed a Vendée Globe and I have climbed Everest. It's a lot of happiness and positive feelings. I'm more tired than at the finish of a Vendée Globe because this climb was very intense in a short time. When I arrived at the top, I started to look at the stars and I told myself that I would never see them so close. I had a big emotion when I saw the summit appear. We reached the summit at night. You can't see anything but a white spot! It was a succession of many small summits. You go up, you see something and at a given moment you recognize the flags. A great moment! We had a huge wind with a totally crazy cold. What emotions! After the summit, it was total chaos with a violent wind. We were then in a hurry to go back down because up there, you can't hold on, you stay frozen. My oxygen tank was almost empty. I didn't have a spare. We had no time to lose."

What would the Cup be without its eternal controversies?

The surprise announcement of the organization of a preliminary regatta of the America's Cup next November in Saudi Arabia arouses a strong controversy. The American team, American Magic, decided not to participate, while in New Zealand, this announcement is difficult to digest.

Citing security concerns, the American challenger will not visit the site.

The other challengers have not yet decided whether they will participate. Initially planned in Cagliari, this stage in Saudi Arabia surprises all observers, who note the lack of attractiveness of the water for this type of event.

Only Team New Zealand and the British team Ineos, who are sponsored by Emirates, have confirmed their arrival.
