Boating license / Green beacon before the entrance to the harbor, which way to go?

I am in front of the old port of Pornic. I see this green beacon on my starboard side. What do I do? I am well placed to continue towards the port. Answer A. I must change course to go around the beacon, leaving it on my port side. Answer B. I don't care about this marker because it is not useful for my pleasure boat. Answer C.

Each week, we offer you a question about the boat license. To validate your knowledge or to discover unexplored areas. This week, we are tackling a question on buoyancy.

Channel marker

The red and green buoys mark a channel, often to guide to a port or delimit a navigation area of a river. The port of Pornic is located on the French coast in Loire-Atlantique. We are therefore in the region of maritime buoyage A.

Green to starboard

When heading towards the harbor, one must leave the red marks on port side and the green ones on starboard side. The author of the photo is therefore in the right place in the channel that leads to the old port of Pornic. This would not be the case in the area of marker B which reverses the two colors, as is the case in the Caribbean, the United States or Japan for example.
