A 43-footer by Humphreys and Pininfarina
To revamp its 43-foot model, Elan Yachts has once again entrusted the duo Humphreys Yacht Design for naval architecture and Pininfarina for design. The pair has designed the new Impression 43, a 13-meter long, 4.25-meter wide yacht with a rather classic exterior style, using the Slovenian manufacturer's codes for a range dedicated to comfort and cruising.
A cockpit to enjoy at anchor
While sailing is obviously part of the Impression 43's program, with two helm stations equipped with a winch close to the genoa as an option, or the standard self-tacking staysail and a mainsail brought back to the coachroof, the configuration of the deck plan clearly favors relaxation on board. The yacht has a tilting transom for swimming as standard, with a large one as an option. The aft blocks can accommodate a plancha or refrigerator. The two cockpit tables can be used, by lowering the top, to transform the cockpit bench into a sunbathing area.
On the foredeck, the flush deck panels also invite you to lie down comfortably.
Wood and light
As you walk down the hall, you are immediately struck by the space and clarity of the interior. This is obviously the result of the large windows, but also of the choice of oak as the wood for the interior. Clear and showing knots, the wood successfully changes from the classic fittings of the sailing boats on the market, and blends well with modern upholstery.
The large U-shaped bench seat in the saloon is complemented by 2 folding chairs if needed. These, like the large galley on the port side, may be more difficult to use when sailing.
Cabins for 8 people
Available in 3 or 4 cabins, the Impression 43 can accommodate up to 10 people by transforming the saloon bench into a double berth. The two aft cabins have a bathroom, while the large forward cabin will have a separate shower or integrated into the toilet, depending on the configuration. In the 4-cabin configuration, the last one, located on the starboard side, has 2 bunk beds, practical for families.
Depending on the navigation habits, the chart table can give way to large cupboards.

The Elan Impression 43 comes standard with a Yanmar 45 horsepower saildrive, but can be upgraded to 80 horsepower as an option. An electric version with Oceanvolt is also available. The base price for 2023 is 299,900 euros excluding VAT, with sails.
